Last week my mom and I went to see Dear Evan Hansen on broadway. We’ve heard so many good reviews, and not to mention it has won six Tony awards – we naturally jumped at the chance to see it! It was a rainy and muggy day in Manhattan so I styled an old maroon floral dress with my grey Brandy Mellville cardigan. It was the perfect outfit to wear because I wasn’t sweating outside and I wasn’t freezing inside! To dress up this piece I wore my Free People “Moody Mules” in grey. They were originally $148, and I found them on Zappo’s for 10% off and on Nordstrom Rack for 43% off! Link is below 🙂
I have to say, Dear Evan Hansen was hands down the best broadway show I have EVER seen (and I’ve seen a lot!) The plot line follows a high school boy who suffers from severe social anxiety. Incorporating modern aspects of today’s world such as Instagram, e-mail, and blogs, Dear Evan Hansen highlights how powerful words can be and how kindness goes a long, long, LONG way. The strong message here centers on life and how we live it by treating others. The Music Box Theatre was intimately small – even from the mezzanine we could see/feel the emotion pouring out of the characters. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and I truly believe everyone should make their way to this AMAZING show!
