Happy hump day everyone! After a short hiatus I’m back with a new post all about my trip to Ellis Island with James 🙂 We knew we were going to be spending the weekend in Manhattan and were trying to find something fun/different to do. My mom suggested we visit the Statue of Liberty and we thought it was the perfect adventure to take in our own backyard.
It was a gloomy day out and I knew we would be traveling back and forth on a ferry, which is why I styled a casual look that would keep me comfortable and warm. I wore my Alternative cotton slashed leggings – every since I got them for Christmas I’ve basically lived in them! The knee slashes give such cool and edgy vibes.. AND they are currently 41% off !! (Less than $35) I styled them with my Gucci logo tank and my TopShop denim jacket. For shoes I wore my Adidas classic sneakers – they were perfect for all of the walking we did!
We had such an amazing time being tourists for the day! Both Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are filled with such rich history. One of my favorite parts of the trip was when I found my great great grandmother’s and great grandfather’s signatures from when they arrived here by boat from Italy in 1915! It was such a surreal and cool feeling, I felt so connected to them when I saw their names! It’s something that I will never forget 🙂
This was our initial view of Ellis Island when we pulled up on the ferry! The building was beautiful!
